Fondue Fountains

While traditional fondue is served in a pot, a fondue fountain is another way to serve fondue that is gaining popularity.

A fondue fountain is best used with chocolate fondue.  You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate in your fondue fountain.  A fondue fountain is a wonderful option for serving fondue at a party or special event.  It makes a beautiful centerpiece, and you get to serve dessert without spending much time prepping or cleaning up afterwards. Fondue fountains are also very popular at weddings because of their elegant look and the fact that they are generally less expensive than other dessert options.

Around your fondue fountain you can arrange a variety of foods such as strawberries, cherries, bananas, marshmallows, and pound cake in small bowls, on plates or in a buffet style spread and allow your guests to help themselves.

Fondue fountains are a great deal of fun and there are several different ways of going about obtaining one. You can buy a small fountain if your aim is simply to have one to use for fun occassions at home or if you're looking for something a little grander you can rent one. If you're serving a great number of people - even if it is just within your home - or if you don't want to have a lot of clean up your best choice is to rent a fountain. Fondue fountains can be difficult to set up, get running, and clean up if you're unfamiliar with the process.
