Fondue Recipes and Tips
Fondue Dips
Fondue dips and sauces can vary greatly depending on the type of occasion and region from which the recipes are from.
The first and most common is a chocolate fondue. It can be made out of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate and is very popular for events such as weddings, parties, corporate banquets. It's also a fun treat for families to enjoy at home. Small chocolate fondue kits are readily accessible and rather easy to find. You can use almost any kind of chocolate but the higher quality the chocolate is the better your fondue will turn out. Typically with chocolate fondue a selection of fruits will be available such as strawberries, bananas, apples, and pineapple, as well as other items like pretzels, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, small pieces of cake, and even candy such as gummy bears.
The second type of fondue is cheese fondue. This is usually served as an appetizer or main course, depending on the event. It can be made with a variety of cheeses and seasonings and the most traditional recipes also include scrambled eggs. The recipes for cheese fondue are widely varied and there's no limit to the types of foods that are served along side them. Many people serve different types of breads, fresh vegetables, small cuts of meat, fruits, and much more.
The third type of fondue is either a hot oil or a broth. This is used to cook meats or vegetables in and is always flavored. It's also usually served with a few different dipping sauces on the side as well. Sometimes a vegetable or chicken broth is used and other times a traditional oil is simply heated and seasoned. Raw cuts of meat and uncooked vegetables are always present with this type of fondue but the types are widely varied.
While these are just the basic types of fondue they should give you an idea of where to start with when it comes to your own fun with fondue. Always be creative and open to new ideas with your fondue menus and remember to have fun with it!
