Fondue Recipes and Tips

Fondue Dining

Many people think of fondue strictly as a dessert course.  While dessert remains an extremely popular form of fondue dining, fondue did not begin this way.

Fondue dining originated in Switzerland in the 18th century.  Fondue dining was a communal experience, and usually centered around a semi-melted cheese sauce.  Diners usually dipped pieces of bread or cooked meat in the sauce using forks.  Fondue dining began as an appetizer and main course, rather than a dessert course.

Over the years, fondue dining spread around the world and its popularity grew as a dessert course, using melted chocolate and pieces of fruit.
